Don’t give up your day job, professor

Using sheer logic and mathematics alone, Descartes wannabe Richard Swinburne is 97% sure that God raised Jesus from the dead. And oh yeah, he’s also an Emeritus Nolloth Professor of the Philosophy of the Christian Religion at Oxford.

This conclusion was reached after a complex series of calculations. In simplified terms, it began with a single proposition: the probability was one in two that God exists….

I’m not even going to get started on why this is complete utter crap.

This comment has nothing to do this post, but I thought you might be interested in these definitions, which you’ve written about in the past:

Emo: An abbreviation for loser. Emo is the new goth, except goths are still around, so it’s becoming almost unbearable.

Metrosexual: A gay guy still in the closet. This word is so contemptible that even the man who coined it has since apologized for being such a douche. I cringe every time I hear this word.

    ugh to Wayland.

re: the Swinburne thing, incisive post. Here’s a lesson in logic: if your premises are utter crap, your conclusions will be too (probably).
